Privacy notice
How Javelin Digital uses the details you send through this website, who handles them on our behalf, and what you can ask us to do with them.

Who we are
Javelin Digital is the trading name of Ben Pywell, a sole trader based in Essex, UK. He is the data controller for the details you send through this website. For anything to do with your personal information, email ben@javelindigital.co.uk.
What we collect and why
We only collect what you choose to send us. The website has three forms:
- Free demo request and demo request from an email we sent you: your name, business name, email address, and optionally a website or social page, a description of the business and anything you want us to know. The version reached from our emails also records that it came from that email and any campaign reference in the link you clicked, so we can tell which outreach led to the request.
- Website enquiry: your name, email address, business name, optionally your current website, the package you are interested in and any notes.
We use these details to build and send your demo, answer your enquiry, prepare a quote, and, if you go ahead, agree and deliver the project. Under UK data protection law, our basis for this is that you have asked us to take these steps before any contract (and, for outreach follow-up, our legitimate interest in responding to requests from businesses we have contacted). We do not use your details for a newsletter, and we do not sell them or share them with anyone for their own marketing.
If you email us directly, we keep that correspondence in our email account for the same purposes.
Who handles your details on our behalf
Two service providers process the details you send, under their own privacy terms:
- Netlify, Inc. hosts this website and receives and stores form submissions, and notifies us of them. Like any web host, it keeps standard server logs, which include your IP address, for security and operation of the service. Netlify’s privacy policy.
- Google provides our business email (Google Workspace), where form notifications and our replies to you are held, and serves the fonts used on this site, so your browser requests them from Google’s servers and Google sees your IP address in that request. Google’s privacy policy.
Both providers may process data outside the UK. They do so under the international-transfer safeguards set out in their own terms, linked above.
Cookies, storage and tracking
This website sets no cookies and uses no analytics or advertising tools. If you switch between light and dark mode, that preference is stored in your browser only (in local storage) and is never sent to us. The example websites linked from our work pages open on their own domains and have their own privacy arrangements.
How long we keep your details
We keep the details from a demo request or enquiry for six months after our last contact with you, then delete them. If you become a client, we keep the details connected with your project while we are working together and for six months after our last contact, then delete them. You can ask us to delete your details sooner at any time (see below), and we will unless we have a legal reason to keep them.
Your rights
You can ask us at any time to:
- tell you what personal information we hold about you and give you a copy;
- correct anything that is wrong;
- delete your details;
- stop or limit what we do with them, including objecting to any processing based on our legitimate interests.
Email ben@javelindigital.co.uk and we will respond within one month. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
